A family-friendly program of music, visual art, speakers, and ceremony to celebrate “lights” of Lincoln County: those who are surviving substance use disorder and finding recovery, those who are working for the wellness of others, and those we’ve loved and lost.


PROGRAM

Throughout the Event:

  • “Lights of Lincoln County,” a photo exhibition by Charles Richards highlighting Lincoln County “lights” affected by substance use: caring professionals and healers, survivors of loved ones who have passed, and those in and seeking recovery.
  •  Art-making activities for young and old alike, with Karen Leah Hight, winner of the 2022 Tang Art Teacher of the Year Award.
  • Paper crane making with Annie Blair and Carol Zahner, Walpole residents, and teachers of Social Presencing under the auspices of BlairZahner.
  • Therapeutic massage experiences by Crystal Mclain Creative and information from Rae Sage, experienced massage therapists based in Lincoln County.
  • Food drive! Be a part of the solution by donating bringing to the Healthy Lincoln County table any non-perishable food items you can spare to support our Food Security systems. Food donations will be divided evenly among Lincoln County food pantries through the Twin Villages Food Hub.

1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. 

Music by Peter Gay, offering an eclectic mix of genres with guitar, voice, and original tracks.


2:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.

Presentations in honor of the Lights of Lincoln County, including:

  • Remarks from Holly Stover, who is the State Representative for District 48, and director of Addiction Outreach Program for the CRC in Boothbay.
  • Recognitions of Tim, Nathaniel, Abigail, and Mat, individuals affected by substance use and in recovery from addiction.
  • Remarks from Cathy Cole, regional director of education for LincolnHealth and Pen Bay Medical Center.
  • Recognitions of Lauren, Will, Stacey, Crystal, and Abigail, caring healers and professionals dedicating themselves to the wellness of our community.
  • Remarks from State Senator Cameron Reny.
  • Recognitions of Karen, Flo, Sharon, and Jenny, Lincoln County residents surviving the devastating loss of loved ones from substance use.
  • Songs from Mathew O’Donnell and Jenny Jordan.

3:30 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Listen to music from the stage by Jenny Jordan and friends, and walk the beautiful Coastal River Conservation Trust trails, lined with 716 Purple Flags in honor of Mainers who died of overdose in 2022. At the end of the trail, you are invited to light candles of remembrance and hope while immersed in the ethereal sounds of singing bowls and other instruments offered by Sophia Bruun.
